Kerry, Edwards and Dean Consultants Contribute to New Strategy
Press Release, Deutsch for U.S. Senate

Wednesday, July 21, 2004

Congressman Peter Deutsch (FL-20), Democratic Candidate for U.S. Senate launched his new campaign website, www.PeterForFlorida.com - a departure from the previous Deutsch2004.org site, the new site offers supporters a way of getting involved with the campaign through public events, online networking, and an online forum to offer public discourse on issues that are important for Florida's voters.

South Florida native, Sanford Dickert signed on board as the Deutsch campaign's Director of Internet Strategy after serving as Senator John Kerry's Chief Technology Officer. Dickert built Senator John Kerry's web infrastructure during the Presidential primary, driving the initial redesign of the Kerry website and the contribution systems leading to the successful fundraising drives exhibited by Senator Kerry. When given the opportunity to build up his hometown Congressman’s Internet presence, Dickert was more than happy to take the challenge.

"I am thrilled to help Peter get his message out to his supporters," said Dickert. "PeterForFlorida.com is a dynamic site, it is a place for people to come together and congregate, whether on the user forum or on the website - we are reaching out to the Florida community to both educate and empower with the message of Peter's fight for a better Florida and the people he has touched over the course of 22 years of service."

Assisting Dickert with the site are several contributors including Mark Sundeen from Howard Dean’s presidential campaign, and Shannon Pinnick from the John Edwards presidential campaign. The contributors were bought together to use some of the best practices in communicating and connecting with voters for the primary and general election.

"I am excited by PeterForFlorida.com, offering all Floridians a chance to be part of the campaign and a chance to join the team in fighting for a better Florida,” said Deutsch. “I am happy that Sanford has joined our team bringing his many years of online and his direct-from-the-front-lines experience with the Kerry campaign to help our supporters to get involved in this important election."
